Finished this piece this week and quite pleased with the results. Really enjoyed making the “puddles” and finding a way to make them sing, got a whole new patch in a brighter pallet coming soon.

Made it to Raleigh last night, bumpy weather, can’t be happier to not be with my Wisconsin realtives who are officially snowed in. Back when I was in a lamp phase I made this for my sister, her cat seems to still be enjoying it,

Finally finished these drawer pulls and knobs for a little girls desk and/or dresser. They are little M&M type dots on a chocolate glass background and they look good enough to eat to me. Hope she enjoys them.

I could have gone into the studio and taken a pic when the last door was up but you would have missed the bald back of Bobo’s head. My brother did such a great job building something beautiful and functional for me in my studio. My challenge now is to store things and find their new places so I can function better in the “organized mayhem” that is how my studio is described by my neighbor. Can’t wait for customers to come in so they can admire his great work.

I made my jewelry making sister a display piece for Christmas. She is always speaking to the lack of available display for her works in the stores where she shows. My brother helped me, it is actually the first piece of furniture I have constructed despite my love of tools and having dabbled in many areas. Props to Ginni from the Riverside Arts Market as her displays were my inspiration. That is a piece of a bicycle protruding from the top with a wheel on top so you can turn it to view all pieces and has lots of room. It has shelves, you cant see because my pic is too dark but also you could add rails to the sides or lots of cup hooks. Now she just needs to find a spot in the store she can put it.

Regulars at the Riverside Artists Market know I usually have some wind chimes made of glass, almost always some made with coca-cola bottles others that come as the chime muse strikes. A customer asked for mega chimes for a Christmas present and I had a lot of fun producing these. For those who are aquainted with Bombay Sapphire Gin will recognize the light blue bottles. I have made them into dishes, made them into pendant lamps but this is the first time I made them chime and it will not be the last. They have a great deep tone reminiscent of church bells pealing. So much more happened over the holidays, will work on more posts this week.
